EVAN’S YAMAHA XJR1300

Evan wrote in to tell us about his new bike. He thought I would be interested, as it is the same make and model as my own bike. Ah yes, I approve of his choice! Ha ha! But, as you'll read, he has a collection of different bikes, and has had numerous bikes in the past, so he has a lot of experience, and a lot of bikes to compare it against.

He wasted no time adding some personal touches too! Here he tells us about the bike.

I managed to find a brand new 2014 XJR1300 from a dealer in Tasmania. Being 2016, you can imagine the great deal that I got.

I have numerous bikes, including 2 Triumph Speed Triples and a Triumph Thunderbird, but my XJR is the best bike that I have owned and ridden. I fitted a DELKEVIC pipe, Yamaha LED indicators, Powerbronze oil cooler guard (powder coated black), black 'Bolt' mirrors, K&N filter, front braided brake lines, removed the centre stand (reduced weight and better look), wheel decals, gold valve caps and I have ordered black aftermarket reservoir covers.

This thing pulls like a freight train, has more torque than an Oprah Winfrey show and gets a tonne of compliments. Comfort, looks and a great ride!!
