In May 2007 Barry headed off on his long-awaited trip around Australia. As he said, “It took a year of planning and a great deal of help from many people. Every great journey involves engaging first gear" was that Ghandi?” I don’t know who said it, but it’s certainly true.
Barry had a Honda Goldwing back then; a big bright yellow one!
The trip was a very enjoyable one and he met a lot of interesting people along the way. Some nice ladies too!
Barry reckons that the travelling life is pretty good. Relaxing in the Northern Territory, he commented, “Just think of all those people working 9 'til 5, (poor buggas); there are thousands of people drifting out there who have decided to live before they die.”
Barry kept a blog of his journey, so rather than try to reproduce the details of the trip here, I’ll give you the link to the story. Click here and it will take you to the start of the trip. (Just scroll down the page a bit to get to May 21st).
